There were 2 awards this yearThe Main award went to Alex Barry of Burton on Trent ME who has been a regular worker at the club for over 6 years. Initially doing the mundane tasks he has progressed to driving on portable track days and is now building his own steam loco (with a bit of help).

The presentation was made at National Railway Museum York (with kind permission) and Alex received the David Birkett memorial trophy together with cheques from both the Birkett family and the Northern Association  The Birkett family set up this award 4 years ago in memory of their son David who was a model engineer.
